This Land Is Your Land

  • Solomon-Dubnick Gallery 1017 25th Street Sacramento, California, 95816 United States (map)

“This Land Is Your Land,” a group exhibition bringing together artists from across Northern California whose work reflects a deep connection to the landscape that surrounds them. The exhibition title is inspired by the iconic song by Woody Guthrie, evoking the enduring relationship between land, place, and the people who inhabit it.

For generations, artists in this region have drawn inspiration from the hills, rivers, agricultural fields, and expansive skies that define Northern California. The Northern California landscape—its shifting light, fertile valleys, rugged coastlines, and open skies—continues to shape the imagination of the artists who live and work here. The artists in this exhibition continue that tradition, each approaching the landscape through their own visual language. Some respond to the natural environment directly, while others explore memory, culture, and the evolving relationship between people and the land.

Together, these works reflect a shared sense of care for the environment and a recognition that the landscape is both a source of inspiration and a place of responsibility. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the artists invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and consider the beauty and fragility of the world around us.

While each artist brings a distinct perspective, the works are united by a common thread: a deep appreciation for the landscape and the ways it continues to shape creative expression.

In celebrating this shared landscape, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the places we call home and the enduring bond between art, land, and community.

I hope you can join us this Friday to kick off the exhibition and celebration of This Land is your Land!
